In order to achieve our mission of facilitating access to solar energy everywhere, Sunhive aims to provide support for solar energy driven projects in the United Kingdom, and around the world.
Beyond helping with skills development, we recognise that there are other drivers of success. Key drivers include:
- life-cycle project management
- appropriate financial structuring
- integrated and holistic approach (service innovation)
- appropriate technology innovation.

In Europe, the emergence of feed-in-tariffs has opened up significant opportunities for project finance (even in the current difficult economic situation). Sunhive aims to provide structured finance options for solar projects in the United Kingdom based around feed-in-tariffs (or FITs).
In developing countries, the challenges are somewhat different, and in certain cases much more challenging, for solar projects. For instance, there are few options for long-term finance for solar (scale) projects. In such settings, the need for innovation is much more pronounced, since solar solutions need to meet particular needs that are constrained by both locally available finance options and project life-cycle management capabilities.
