Figures from the Met Office
Mary Mears, Leader of Brighton & Hove City Council, included sustainability in her top ten priorities for the city in 2010, and a big part of this is electricity generation. She knows it’s important, and so do we. We’re working with a government-backed scheme supported by the Energy Saving Trust in order to fit solar panels on your house for free and give you the chance to halve your electricity bills. Similar projects are being carried out across the city, for example at Mile Oak Primary School, and we hope to give anyone with a suitable house in Brighton and Hove the opportunity to get free solar panels to power their home.
To make it easy for people to install solar panels, planning permission isn’t usually needed, and we make it even easier for you by taking care of the whole installation, looking after the panels once they’re installed, and paying for it ourselves too.
