The smallest system we install is a 10 panel system. This requires about 20 square meters of usable roof space (chimneys and other features may make some of your roof space unsuitable).
A 10 panel (2.45kWp) system in Sussex should produce over 2200kWh of electricity each year. The average home in the UK uses 3300kWh per year, so this can go a long way to reducing your bills.
The largest system we install has 16 panels, requiring 30 square meters.
A 16 panel (3.92kWp) system should produce over 3500kWh per year – more than the average home uses! As electricity is not produced by solar panels at night, and more is generated in the summer than the winter, you will still have to buy some from your supplier, but you should see your bills drop a long way.
